Wandelende Duinen – Metropolis Residency 2026
Dutch company Wandelende Duinen, founded by Eva Koopmans, is in residency at Metropolis in July 2026 on Refshaleøen as part of Metropolis’ partnership with IN SITU.
Wandelende Duinen is a socio-artistic practice founded by artist Eva Koopmans, exploring the relationships between people, landscapes, and the more-than-human world. Rooted in scenography and relational artistic practices, the work develops through encounters with communities, places, and ecological systems. Eva studied Scenography at the Academy of Arts in Groningen and completed a Master’s in Interrelational Artistic Practices at the Frank Mohr Institute. Between 2021 and 2024, she was part of the talent development programme Station Noord, creating work for festivals including Oerol, Over het IJ, and Explore the North. Wandelende Duinen is part of the INSITU Platform, and this residency marks the second residency within the network. The projects are process-driven, with each artistic outcome shaped by the specific relationships built in each place.
