ASTRID RANDRUP – Wall

A sensory ritual for bricks

We are surrounded by them – yet rarely notice them. Bricks. Just a material. Or are they? What if we could experience them as something living?

Visual artist Astrid Randrup works toward a new understanding of the materials our world is built from. She gives bricks the leading role in a performative ritual where you are invited to listen like a brick – and to a brick. You will feel it, draw with it, and follow the traces it leaves as it transforms.

We meet where the bricks gather and become a wall. A boundary. A sound barrier. Perhaps we will discover that we affect one another – the bricks and us. The material and the body. And perhaps we are not as separate as we think…
