Application guidelines for PERFORMNORD
1. DEADLINES
The call for applications to the artistic programme is now open.
Deadline for application is Friday 18 Sept. 2026 at midnight (CET)
We are inviting potential applicants to a series of 3 online webinars where we will inform about the initiative, the proposed programme and the selection process:
22 July, 5 August, 26 August at 15h00-16h30 CET

2. ELIGEABILITY
The call is open for all professional Nordic artists who define their practice and/or a particular work as performance art based.
Artists may have training/background from the performing arts, the visual arts, music/sound and other disciplines, but we underline the core element of live performance as a defining characteristic.
The call is open for Nordic and international professional artists living and working in the Nordic countries. The call is also open for Nordic professional artists practicing their work in other countries. The Nordic countries are defined as Denmark incl. Greenland & The Faroe Islands, Finland, Iceland, Norway or Sweden.
3. WHAT CAN YOU APPLY FOR
You can apply in one, two or three of the following categories:
• Presentation of a selected live performance
• Presentation of your practice in a studio setup (video, photos, materials, prints, effects)
• Presentation in the dialogue programme, e.g. walk & talk, interview or participatory workshops
3.A Live performance programme
Documentation / material
• Artists must submit full CV and info about relevant work
• Existing works/formats must be documented (written/photos/video)
• In individual cases from established artists, we can accept works premiered after application deadline with full description
• All works/formats/practices must be available for presentation internationally following PERFORMNORD in 2027/28
• If the work is site-specific, improvised, participatory, etc., artists must provide documentation of similar work and description of the project
Technical
• For staged works in formal/informal spaces, all space and technical requirements and setup times are required
• For site-specific works (indoor or outdoor), please provide details of setup and adaptation if required as well as technical requirements. In some cases, we can offer pre-site visits and short residencies to prepare site-specific work.
3.B Studio presentations
• We will be offering small studio spaces (15-25m2), where artists can install archival material, present video/sound and work on sketches of new projects. Studios may be allocated daily.
• Studio presentations will be offered to artists/companies with a significant body of work.
• Artists must submit full CV and info about relevant work.
• Artists will be asked to detail the use of a studio and the materials / media you wish to install. It is expected that the artist is present.
3.C Dialogue programme
• Artists are invited to offer presentations with film/video/slides, to engage in roundtables and dialogues, and to offer participatory workshops (for single or multiple sessions).
• Proposals are invited from artists/companies as well as networks/platforms.
• Artists must submit full CV and info about relevant work.
