A nomadic community of artists in the Danish landscape<\/strong><\/h5>\n

In the summer of 2026, Performing Landscapes once again sets out across Denmark, establishing temporary camps in a series of diverse landscapes.<\/p>\n

At a time when the climate and biodiversity crises call for new ways of being in the world, Performing Landscapes brings together 40 artists who explore how art can reconnect us with the vibrant web of life of which we are a part \u2013 in nature, in the landscapes around us, and within ourselves.<\/p>\n

Audiences can experience works in a variety of formats, including walking performances, participatory workshops, performative installations, rituals, and more, all rooted in the specific places where they unfold.<\/p>\n

In some locations, Performing Landscapes takes the form of an open festival welcoming everyone. In others, it becomes a process of artistic development and local engagement, with artists collaborating closely with residents, schools, and community groups.<\/p>\n

Performing Landscapes is rooted in an artistic practice that regards nature as an active co-creator on its own terms. The project is both about artistic interpretations of the landscape and about creating space for the landscape’s own voices to be heard.<\/p>\n

From open horizons and historic urban gardens to industrial excavation sites, polluted soils, and fjords affected by oxygen depletion, each location holds its own stories, challenges, and possibilities. Together with audiences, the artists explore what these places can reveal about the world we share.<\/p>\n
