A shared play with nature\u2019s materials<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Set out to explore nature\u2019s abundance of materials as artist and designer Charlotte \u00d8stergaard invites us to collectively create structures using what already exists in the landscape.<\/p>\n

We move slowly through the area, gathering dried flowers, fallen branches, long grass\u2026 We follow our curiosity and let our hands choose what calls to be touched, picked up, and brought into play.<\/p>\n

Together, we bend, tie, braid, and weave the materials. Some things snap easily, while others are more resilient. The materials set the pace, and each movement becomes a negotiation between hands and material – between intention and resistance.<\/p>\n

There is no specific outcome intended. Instead, we explore what emerges when we listen to the materials and create together.<\/p>\n

In the end, we leave the structures in the landscape. Here, they can slowly transform, fall apart, and return to nature\u2019s cycle – as a quiet reminder that we humans are not the only creators, but merely temporary co-creators.<\/p>\n

\"CharlotteABOUT CHARLOTTE \u00d8STERGAARD<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Charlotte \u00d8stergaard works at the intersection of artistic practice and research, rooted in costume design, textile art, and participatory processes, where she explores how materials can open up sensory and relational spaces between people.<\/p>\n

Central to her practice is the understanding that almost anything can be a material – and that materials are not only shaped by humans, but can also initiate actions. Through textile, performative, and collective processes, she investigates how materials can create new forms of communication, attention, and temporary communities.<\/p>\n

Hosting is an important part of her practice: creating situations where people can meet through materials, actions, and listening. In these spaces, opportunities for collective creation emerge, where bodies, materials, and surroundings are temporarily woven together.<\/p>\n
