A d<\/strong>ance with the e<\/strong>lements<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Two gigantic, black sculptures fly away. 400 m3 balloons filled with air, carried by the wind and lifted by the sun. Like two living bodies, they breathe. Literally. Greyline is the dance of the elements. The enormous natural forces that constantly affect us and the planet become visible as they give the sculptures life and movement.<\/p>\n

If there is no sun or wind, the sculptures lie lifeless. If the wind is strong, they are unruly and wild – like two fleeting works of art that want to fly free. Like two clenched, black fists signaling the need for climate action.<\/p>\n

The wind controls the direction. As an audience, we have to follow along. The sculptures are tied to five dancers on the ground. They too must follow the weather. If the wind is strong, the dancers must be quick and let themselves be pulled along. If the wind is calm, the bodies are gentle and still. Just as the balloons, the dancers’ bodies seek out the sun. Stretching and twisting like most living beings to catch the life-giving rays.<\/p>\n

\"Greyline<\/b><\/h5>\n

The title Greyline is a metaphor for an unclear boundary and at the same time the name of the narrow band that separates regions in daylight from those in darkness around the world. A border that is constantly shifting.The performance asks how we can dissolve the boundary that we perceive between the human and the non-human? Between the visible and the invisible? And it asks how we can challenge geopolitical borders in a time of climate inequality? The wind and sun have no borders. Why do we?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
